Please choose a shipping method that will get these to you within 2-3 days. Keep in mind that any delivery times from the Post Office are just estimates. They are often times slower. It's best to order snails at the beginning of the week, not past Tuesday. We will refund any snails that are DOA, but we will not refund any shipping costs. Email a clear photo with all snails in one photo with the trap door visible. Take the photo with the snails out of the water)
Ramshorn Red and brown color variants and occasionally a blue. They've never eaten any of the plants that we keep. They lay their eggs in adhesive patches underwater, so they will generally multiply very rapidly if given enough food. They are fairly easy to control by simply putting in a piece of lettuce at night and then removing it in the morning. Most of the snails will attach to the lettuce. They are also readily eaten by clown loaches.

Needed feeders for my assassin snails as all my LFS were out. Was thrilled to receive so many, either way more than 20 were packaged or the snails gave birth during shipping- or both! I now have a nice supply for my assassin snails for a while.
These Ramshorn Snails are super active in my tank. They are definitely eating a good amount of the Cyanobacteria that I’ve been trying to get rid of for weeks 👌🏼
Snails were abundant and very healthy. My MBU and Terrapins had a nice chow for 3 days.

Snails are very hardy and can handle cold quite well, but they will die if the temperatures get much below 20 F. They will also not travel well if the box gets much above 80 F for too many hours.
- "Caution, PLEASE READ": We pack them well, but they will not handle way below freezing conditions or extreme heat for long. Night-time lows and day-time highs are both important. You should check our weather also (zip 14760). Generally they ship well in temps between 20 F and 80 F. When you receive them, acclimate them to the temperature of your tank like you would a fish.
- Choose an appropriate shipping method when ordering. Try to get them to you within 2 days. Do not order with UPS Ground shipping if you are more than 1500 miles from us. UPS 2nd Day is a much better choice. Priority mail is NOT a reliable service.
- We ship snails Mon & Tues only. Orders that arrive after 8 AM est, will not ship until the following business day.
- Preferably, have them sent to a place where they will not sit in the sun or freezing temps. PO Boxes are good. Business addresses are good. Mailboxes outside are not a good idea unless you're sure to get them out right away. If they sit in the sun for too long, they will die.
- We caution people to be leery of ordering from anyone who just wraps them in wet paper towels. That is a very stressful way to ship snails. We put them in water, which moderates the temperature and greatly increases their odds of being in good shape on arrival.
- We cannot ship these or any live items to Canada.
- There is a small handling charge added to all orders with live items. This is because of the greater time spent packaging and the cost of insulation, heat packs if needed and the fact that the carriers do not insure anything live that is lost or damaged in transit.
