Dechlorinating Crystals This is sodium thiosulfate. It is the active ingredient that removes chlorine found in all chorine removal products. Simply mix 1 lb into a gallon of water to make stock solution. Then test with a chlorine test kit to see how many drops are required to remove the chlorine from a given amount of tap water. Most situations require no more than 1 drop of stock solution to remove the chlorine from a gallon of tap water. This is by far the cheapest way to remove chlorine from your tap water. Depending on your water's chlorine concentration, 1 lb will dechlorinate between 30,000 and 150,000 gallons of water. If your water source contains chloramines, read this. Breeding Slate: 2" x 10" real slate - These make it easy to remove the eggs and hatch them in a 1 gallon jar. If given no other spawning items, they will choose the slate every time. We have use these in our own professional hatcheries for over 25 years. Brine Shrimp Sieve: This sieve is almost indestructible. Regular nets will disintegrate when you use bleach to clean them. However, this sieve will survive bleaching with no problems. It also does not leak like most nets and will save you money by not having your expensive shrimp go down the drain. Aquarium Silicone: Designed to be safe for aquarium use. Multiple Vitamins Water Soluble liquid vitamins that can be added to the water or to their food. Many people soak freeze-dried foods in this, before feeding. Ground Fault Protector: Plug this GFCI into a wall outlet to protect you against electricity when putting your hand in water. Media Bag: Great for adding material to filters or to aquariums. Common uses are for carbon, zeolite, peat, resins and crushed coral. Zeolite Pack: 50 grams of zeolite in a mesh bag. 1 bag is good for 10 gallons of aquarium water. zeolite removes ammonia and other toxins from aquarium water. 1 gram of zeolite will remove 1.5 milligrams of ammonia from a liter of water. You can put these into most filters or just let sit near a water flow. It can be re-charged in a salt solution (1lb of salt to 3 gallons of water). Let sit for 9 hours. Rinse well, and place back in tank. Activated Carbon: This carbon is the highest grade available. It has a small granular size, so is best used in a media bag, or behind a filter pad. |
